Run On

I can say one of my favorite dramas. It’s such a healing and therapeutic series for me. I like the scenario, the plot, the characters and everything. Even the cinematography is nice. You won’t find typical second lead syndrome or love triangle something like that. I salute to the writer, she’s a rookie writer but can touch us viewers with the story. Light and breezy, like my friend said.

Do You Like Brahms?

I can’t believe it after such a long time, I finally found favorite on-screen couple that I think have a good chemistry and have sweet, engaging romance. Too attached that I think I need some times to move on from this drama.

A slow-paced romance drama that’s really touching for me after I’ll Go To You When The Weather is Nice, Do You Like Brahms? has a beautiful music background indeed and good cast. It’s all thanks to the director and the writer who is actually majored in music. Story about the romance of classical music students, about finding their love and pursuing their dreams.

My Unfamiliar Family

I remember I didn’t really anticipate this drama but it turns out to be my one of the best in the first semester of 2020. Slice of life drama like this never failed, especially this is about family. The premise is very interesting. A good execution and couldn’t ask for better ending.

The story is about family become strangers. As we grow old, we’re busy with our lives. We think we understand our family better, but in fact we know nothing about them. We feel comfortable with others than our siblings or even parents.

When The Camellia Blooms

To write this, I binge-watched this drama again. It’s still the same pain, the same warmth, the same smile and the same tears. My eyes were swollen because this drama is too beautiful and touching I just can’t. No wonder this drama got Daesang on 2020 Baeksang Art Awards, and even Kang Ha Neul got the best male lead.

Yes, It’s one of the best k-drama in the history. For me the story is light but the packaging is interesting. A life of single mother with her only son. Moving to a small village, Ongsan. She meets a Man who changes her life, to be better. I can say that their love story is too beautiful to describe.

Hospital Playlist

‘It’s a must watch!’ That’s my reaction the first time I heard about this drama. Not just because of the line-up are good actors, but because of the director & the writer. Director Shin Won Ho is known with his successful Reply series (1997, 1994, 1988) and the latest one I really like is Wise Prison Life/Prison Playbook. Writernim is Lee Woo Joong known with the Reply Series. I’m impressed with the duo that they can make a slice of life drama is so touching and comforting since Reply 1997.

Starring well-known actors: Jo Jung Suk, Jung Kyung Ho, Yoo Yeon Seok, Kim Dae Myung and a beautiful musical actress Jeon Mi Do. No doubt about their acting. The story is about five of them who are best friends since university and are successful doctors in their own fields. As always Director Shin and Writer Lee dramas have no complicated issue, no antagonist, it’s just every day life of the doctors delivered with warm stories.

Extracurricular

A high school student, Oh Ji Soo (Kim Dong Hee), known as a model student with good grades, well-behaved, no negative record in school but outside, he has his secret job to earn money. His life is not easy, dark, with financial difficulties. No support from parents. From working, he can survive for his tuition, daily life, etc. He wants to continue his study to good university, get a job, have family, like a normal life. For him, dreams are expensive.

What is his secret job? It’s an online prostitution using a mobile application with robot voice as anonymous. He’s known as “The Uncle”. No one think that the one who runs the apps is this High School kiddo. He works with Mr. Lee who doesn’t know him. He only knows Ji Soo as “The Uncle”. Mr. Lee drives and provides security service for the sex workers to protect them in case the client is such criminal or a psycho.

Find Me in Your Memory

Another beautiful romance drama which you can ship the leads, even second lead couple. The premise is interesting. About an anchorman, Lee Jung Hoon (Kim Dong Wook) who has hyperthymesia; a condition that allows you to remember every moment in your life and about a famous artist, Yeo Ha Jin (Moon Ga Young) who forgets her past.

Yeo Ha Jin’s sister is her manager, played by Kim Seul Gi which is one of my faves. She played very well in Oh My Ghost too if you remember her.

Short story, Yeo Ha Jin is finally dating Anchor Lee, Anchor Lee is actually Yeo Ha Jin’s best friend’s past lover. Her best friend, Jung Seo yun passed away with tragic story but Ha Jin can’t remember. That’s how the story begins.

Prison Playbook

Another masterpiece from Shin Won Ho PD after Reply series. We know Reply 1997, 1994 and 1988 are such warm dramas which really attached into the heart of viewers. This Prison Playbook aka Wise Prison life is no different. It’s again a heartwarming drama, totally Shin PD style of drama we can never miss. I have watched like 3 times and still saying this is a healing drama for me.

A lot of important characters involved in this drama. Which pictured really well by the writer-nim, Jung Bo Hoon. Story about life in prison. The impression you’ll never imagine. Started with a successful and famous Baseball Player, Kim Jae Hyeok (Park Hae Soo) forced to be in jail because he’s murdered someone who’s trying to rape his sister. He meets different kind of prisoners with different backgrounds, wardens, correction officers, etc. Then, he must adapt to life in prison.

The Package

The Package. One of the best underrated dramas. The “tour” theme is different than any other typical Korean drama. Story about a group of tourists in a package tour to Paris. Lead by a Korean tour guide and every traveler who joins this tour has their own stories. That’s what make this drama interesting.

The storyline is not only focus on the main leads but also the other casts. The overall story is light but solid. My favorite story beside the leads: The tour guide, Yoon So So (Lee Yeon Hee) and one of the travelers, San Maroo (Jung Yong Hwa) is about Jung Yeon Sung (Ryu Seung Soo) and Na Hyeon (Park Yoo Na). A father and a daughter. I can cry watching their story. Being a single father with one teenager daughter is not easy and for their case is touching.

I’ll Go To You When The Weather is Nice

I never thought I’d like this slow pace drama. Setting in rural village, Bukhyeon, with beautiful view. I’ll Go To You When The Weather is Nice is a romance drama based on a novel “Nalssiga Joeumyeon Chajagagesseoyo” by Lee Do-Woo (published June 28, 2018 by Sigongsa) *souce asianwiki.

Haewon (Park Min Young) is tired of her life in Seoul, she’s coming back to her hometown, Bukhyeon and meets Eunsup (Seo Kang Joon). Her coming this winter is different. They fall in love and their romance is sweet and warm.
