D.P.

Another awesome series from Netflix. D.P., a 6 episode series starring Jung Hae In as Ahn Jun Ho, a soldier who is quite and calm person. He tries to avoid fighting with other soldier.

One day Seargent Park Boem Gu (Kim Sung Kyun) assigned him to DP (Deserter Pursuit) team. The mission of the team is to catch deserter (read: a member of the armed forces who deserts; a member of a military force who abandons service without leave). He then meets Corporal Han Ho Yeol (Koo Kyo Hwan). Seargent Park looks cold but he really takes care of DP team.

At a Distance, Spring is Green

Never expect before I become this drama’s fans. I like it that this drama is flowing naturally and heartwarming. I mean this is kind of slice of life drama that I like. Not too much and not too heavy. Youth drama that I like, I think so long after ‘Age of Youth’.

Not really familiar with the cast except Bae In Hyuk, but I like them. The drama is about about university students with their backstory, love life and goals. Yeo Jun (Park Ji Hoon), Nam Soo Hyun (Bae In Hyuk), and Kim So Bin (Kang Minah) become friends.

So I Married The Anti-fan

A romance drama based on webtoon, So I Married The Anti-fan was a 2018 production drama and it takes 4 years until it finally be released on various OTTs in the world. I can’t help but falling in love with this drama. Though it’s a simple romance series, but I really like the plot, the simplicity the writer and director want to show us. What else we need from a romance kdrama, right. I’m interested in the cast: starring Choi Tae Joon (Who Joon), Sooyoung (Lee Geun Young), Chansung (Choi Jae Joon/JJ) and Han Ji An (Oh In Hyung).

Taxi Driver

What an amazing drama. Great cast, great plot, great directing. I think this drama is well prepared and written. Based on a popular webcomic The Deluxe Taxi, this drama hits high rating when it airs.

“Don’t Die, Get Revenge” stickers are pasted everywhere near Han River Bridge where some people (most probably) want to suicide. Rather than die, The Taxi Driver squad called Rainbow Taxi Driver help them get revenge. Kim Do Ki (Lee Je Hoon) a former special forces officers, Ahn Go eun (Pyo Ye Jin) is an IT genius, Choi Kyung Koo (Jang Hyuk Jin) and Park Jin Eon (Bae Yoo Ram) as engineers, lead by Jang Sung Chul (Kim Eui Sung), they work in Ranbow Taxi Driver Revenge team. But not only the Rainbow team, there’s also Kang Hana, the prosecutor who has integrity and then has relation to the Rainbow team.

Beyond Evil

Never say too late to post about this good drama. Won 3 awards at 2021 Baeksang Arts Awards: Best Drama; Best Screenplay; Best Actor; Beyond Evil is superb. I’m not a thriller fan but this drama is seriously awesome in my opinion.

Starring Shin Ha Kyun, a famous veteran actor and Yeo Jin Goo a young experienced also promising actor, this drama is very well written and directed. Shin Ha Kyun portrays the character Lee Dong Sik very well and Yeo Jin Goo (as Han Joo Won) is awesome too. Acting with Shin Ha Kyun I believe influences him to act deeper than his usual acting which is already good + good script.

How to be Thirty

A simple web drama, How to be Thirty is based on webcomic “85nyeonsaeng” by Hye-Won (published from June 25, 2015 to February 15, 2018 via Kakao) (source: asianwiki). This drama is kind of women centric story which the story focuses on three women in their 30s. It shows how them handle their love life, career, including dealing with past. Starring Jung In Sung, Hani and Cha Min Jee, this drama is more like a modern drama with adult problems, 20 mins each episode.

She Would Never Know

She Would Never Know is a love story about a young good looking man who’s in love with his senior based on a novel “Sunbae, Geu Lipstick Bareujimayo” by Elise (asianwiki). I think it’s a pure romance with the background cosmetic company. Chae Hyun Seung (Rowoon) is a marketer in KLAR cosmetics. He likes his senior (Sunbae), Yoon Song A (Won Jin A), who tutors him well and has promising career in the company. But while chasing his love, Hyun Seung finds out that Sunbae’s secretly dating their boss.

Run On

I can say one of my favorite dramas. It’s such a healing and therapeutic series for me. I like the scenario, the plot, the characters and everything. Even the cinematography is nice. You won’t find typical second lead syndrome or love triangle something like that. I salute to the writer, she’s a rookie writer but can touch us viewers with the story. Light and breezy, like my friend said.
