The Good Bad Mother

It’s been a while since the last time I watched family drama, and I can say The Good Bad Mother is one of the best I have ever watched. Ra Miran as lead is really good here, I mean not only Ra Miran but also all cast are great. A story about a single mom, Young Soon (Ra Miran), whose husband’s unfairly dead, is very discipline to her son because she wants him to be a tough and smart person in the future and wont be treated unfairly.

As expected her son, Choi Kang Ho (Lee Do Hyun) is a genius. He turns out to be a smart prosecutor but is very cold. He grows up very hard and mentally pressured by his mother. After being a prosecutor he’s focusing on investigating his father death in the past.

Kang Ho grows up in a small and warm village. His mom has pig farm. The neighborhood is so warmth and the families there are close to each other. Tae Ho was born on the same day with Lee Mi Joo (Ahn Eun Jin), the daughter of Jung Gum Ja (Kang Mal Geum), one of the mom in the neighborhood who is also very nice to Young Soon.

Tae Ho and Mi Joo fall in love with each other without the family knows. Tae Ho wants to pass law school and work hard for that, while Mi Joo supports him very well. Mi Joo is really precious to Tae Ho because she gives him spirit and energy to study hard and pass the bar exam to become prosecutor. He loves her since they were is school.

One day, after passed being a prosecutor, Kang Ho breaks Mi Joo and stops the contact with his mom. Without knowing Mi Joo is pregnant with his kids he left her and focus on his mission. He wants to do some dangerous works to investigate further about his father death. He doesn’t want to harm his gf and his mom. He knows he’s dealing with difficult people that’s why he does many ways to penetrate to that bad people. But we know, it’s hard for him and Mi Joo as well.

An incident happens and Kang Ho wakes up with his mental state and condition like when he was 7. Literally like he becomes a child. I still cant figure out why it has to be 7 year old kid, but I think because at that time is the hardest time for Kang Ho to figure out what happens and why his mom is too strict to him. About him without father. About him who has to study hard, can’t play and go picnic like other kids, and even can’t eat full because it can make him sleepy and can’t study anymore. At that time, since born, Mi Joo is there to company him, to calm his heart to make him smile.

Kang Ho is back to his old house and village. Young Soon is so sad and she finally realizes that she’s too hard to her son before and slowly Kang Ho is reminded with his past including his love life with Mi Joo who is now has 2 adorable twins, Ye jin (Ki So Yu) and Seo jin (Park Da On). The kids don’t know about Kang Ho as their father and their interaction is so cute. There’s also Yoo In Soo here as Bang Sam Sik. He’s a good friend of Kang Ho and Mi Joo, and since long a go really has crush to Mi Joo but we all know whom Mi Joo likes. Sam Sik has important role here to help Kang Ho and Mi Joo.

After all we can see if Kang Ho finally back to be Prosecutor Choi and be a good son and a responsible man to Mi Joo and their kids. What a warmth and lovable story. We will miss the neighborhood.

Last but not least, Lee Do Hyun is very good, amazed by how he can act as the cold prosecutor, the fall in love Kang Ho, and even the 7 years old kid Kang Ho. Also, can they give Ra Miran an award? She is very good!!!
