My Sweet Mobster is the real romcom that everybody likes and so entertaining. About Seo Ji Hwan (Um Tae Goo) who is a former gangster. He’s the son of a mafia and a CEO of a company, Thirsty Deer. He quits being a gangster. He hires and lives with gangs who are ex prisoner to change their lives and so that people can accept them.
Go Eun Ha (Han Sun Hwa) is a not so popular kids youtuber. She makes video for kids and she has good personality. She’s know as Mini Onnie (Mini Sister). She has good memory of his childhood, being taken care of her friend. She’s looking for that friend now. One day, she meets Seo Ji Hwan and she ends up staying at Ji Hwan’s house along with Ji Hwan’s friends. This is the interesting thing, when at first Ji Hwan’s friends ignore her. But they eventually get along well.
Ji Hwa’s friends aka Thristy Deer team here is the charm of the drama in my opinion. The romance will just be romance without the comedy from them. They really gives color. I love that Ji Hwan really works hard to protect his people and is very supportive towards the friends when they want to change to be good persons. It’s so touching that Ji Hwan being their hyungnim and the lead of their family.
This drama has pattern where there is a love triangle in this drama. Jang Hyun Woo (Kwon Yul) is a nice police who falls for Eun Ha. He always watches and support Eun Ha’s videos on youtube. As police at first Hyun Woo seems to have doubt in Seo Ji Hwan and his team, since they are ex gangster. But Hyun Woo is a nice person he still supports Eun Ha even though he knows her heart is for Ji Hwan.
The conflict is basically about JiHwan’s father who wants him to be a gangster like him. He wants Ji Hwan to be the one like him too. At first Ji Hwan is influenced by his father said that he can be a nice person. But Eun Ha really supports him said that he can be the one he wants to be.
I Love Eun Ha’s character that she is very positive and really give good vibes to the people around her. Her support to Ji Hwan to change to be better person is the key why Ji Hwan also falls for her. They are supporting each others. I like that this drama is real romcom, funny and entertaining. It’s light too so you can enjoy bingewatching it. At first I think I had to digest the character Seo Ji Hwan haha… since I watched Uhm Tae Goo in action or serious drama/movie before. But slowly I realized he has his charm for a romcom like this too. He did it.
